ABOUT US
The Cancer Care Foundation was established in 2018 and is a charity organisation dedicated to one clear purpose – creating the much-needed practical support for cancer patients to ease and improve their treatment journey so their energies are focused on getting well.
Our founders are doctors and cancer treatment specialists. We understand the cancer treatment journey and its challenges, and know that a holistic, caring support system makes a real difference for patients and their families as they go through their treatment.
We are local. As part of the CCA Group, our clinics and treatment centres are community focused which means we’re aware of the many ways
in which direct, practical and immediate help is needed – like reliable transport making access to care easier, providing a nutritious lunch if it’s a long tiring day, and knowing there’s someone to talk to who really understands.
Research is an important part of our work as cancer specialists, and we’re committed to provide each patient with the optimal combination of available treatment, whether new drugs, or specialist equipment that makes the treatment more comfortable.
The Cancer Care Foundation will enable local CCA Group clinics to purchase specific specialist equipment and participate in research into causes, diagnosis and treatment of cancer illnesses, publishing the results and providing training for medical professionals on the most recent developments.
For patients receiving treatment at CCA Group centres, the Foundation is committed to making a real difference – because we believe the best care is local.
SERVICES
CANCER SUPPORT
when you need it most
The tangible support we provide and the research we participate in makes a huge difference to the cancer treatment journey for patients and their families. We believe the best care is local. Our donors and supporters can see the very real difference they are able to make, and our local community benefits as patients get the help they need closer to home.
Local support services:
- Transportation, especially for outlying communities
- Financial support to bridge gaps and cover hidden costs
Treatment support:
- Access to a new or better drugs or treatment
- Provision of non ‘standard’ therapy
- Provision of aids or equipment, where appropriate
How it works:
For patients and their families, your doctor and clinic staff will talk to you about the help you might need, and the support available. Through the Foundation, we’ll set up a support plan for you.
For local people, volunteer to help, and make a real difference to someone in your community.
And of course, all this is possible only with the support of our financial supporters – so please consider making a donation.
RESEARCH
CANCER RESEARCH
helping advance oncology care
Caring for patients requires three components – the “Hippocratic Triad” of understanding the patient and their environment, understanding the disease and its natural history and understanding the treatment options available for that disease. Being aware of all three of these features allows us to select the most appropriate choice and tailor a treatment to individual patient needs.
But you can also see that those three components contain hidden aspects, and there is need for research to fully understand a disease, and why it behaves as it does.
There is also need for understanding how new treatments may interact with a disease process, and impact upon a patient – not only offering the potential of better control, but also of understanding when and where a new option fits into the clinical scenario of patient care.
By being involved in research we are committing ourselves to trialing new processes and treatments that may be beneficial to the community, and we may be able to offer our patients new ways to manage a particular scenario or condition so that we can assist in advancing the barriers to better control.

HOW
YOU CAN HELP
As a donor you can contribute to a specific project and see the tangible difference it makes, or become a regular supporter through a monthly donation.
MONTHLY GIVING
Monthly giving can help Cancer Care Foundation plan
and consistently deliver a set of services to manage the additional costs and concerns patients and their families experience. This may involve financial support to help cover funding gaps, transport to the clinic for treatment, providing a nutritious lunch; or counselling and psychotherapy to help individuals cope better with what they are
going through.
A ONE-OFF DONATION
A one-off donation can help us
purchase specific equipment that will give patients undergoing certain therapies a more comfortable experience; or to fund specific research, via:
- Gift in wills
- Gift in celebration
- Gift in memory
- Philanthropy
100% of your donation goes to benefit patients. The Cancer Care Foundation’s board members work on a pro-bono basis, and facilities, accounting services and some staffing are provided by the Foundation’s parent company, the CCA Group.
All donations are 100% allocated to the Foundation’s charitable purpose – advancing health by promoting the prevention, treatment and control of cancer by actively supporting the treatment and management of cancer patients being treated at centres within the CCA Group. The Cancer Care Foundation is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), therefore donations are ordinarily tax deductible.

HAVE SAID
I want to pass on my thanks for the level of care you provide. Nothing is too much trouble for you and we really appreciate your support. You all made the visits that more bearable; thanks once again, you are truly amazing.
I can't thank you enough for all the care and support you have given me over the past few months. I honestly can say that without you all I wouldn't have been so calm and gotten through this difficult time with such a positive outlook on my treatment. Thank-you again – you are all so special – My Heroes!
Thank-you so much for nurturing me, allowing me to flourish while having my chemotherapy. Each time I had treatment it was like I was being looked after by family.
