CANCER RESEARCH
CARING
FOR PATIENTS
Caring for patients requires three components – the “Hippocratic Triad”.
Being aware of all three of these features allows us to select the most appropriate choice and tailor a treatment to individual patient needs. It can also be seen that those three components contain hidden aspects, and there is need for research to fully understand a disease, and why it behaves as it does.
Therefore, continuous research is essential to fully unravel the complexities of a disease, understanding its mechanisms and behaviours in entirety. This ongoing exploration serves as a vital compass, guiding us towards more effective therapies and improved patient outcomes.
THE "HIPPOCRATIC TRIAD"
Understanding the patient and their environment
Understanding the disease and its natural history
Understanding the treatment options available for that disease
RESEARCH
PROGRAMS
At Cancer Care Foundation, we are dedicated to advancing cancer support and treatment through advanced research. Our in-house research and state-of-the-art laboratory work set us apart in our mission to find innovative solutions for cancer care.
UNDERSTANDING
NEW TREATMENTS
There is also need for understanding how new treatments may interact with a disease process, and impact upon a patient – not only offering the potential of better control, but also of understanding when and where a new option fits into the clinical scenario of patient care.
By being involved in research we are committing ourselves to trialing new processes and treatments that may be beneficial to the community, and we may be able to offer our patients new ways to manage a particular scenario or condition so that we can assist in advancing the barriers to better control.
